Description
The Glasshopper Stove Fan is a Stirling engine built with a clear glass Borosilicate cylinder which shows the internal workings of the engine.
This highly versatile design allows it to work on most stove surfaces with the exception of diesel and catalytic stoves.
The Glasshopper Stove Fan will start working at 105° C (221° F) and its extra long run down time means it is highly suitable for use on Soapstone surfaces.
Named the Glasshopper for its ‘hopping’ internal cylinder, you will receive endless hours of enjoyment from viewing the mesmerizing moving parts.
When you use this Stirling engine stove fan you can reduce your wood usage by up to 22% and heat your room up to 40% faster.
See our Quick Guide on how to choose a stove fan.
Stirling Engine Design
Warpfive stove fans are small precision engineered Stirling engines, which are 100% mechanical and do not have any electric components which may stop working if overheated. Consequently they are extremely reliable and with care will last a lifetime.
Every engine is precision engineered and hand built with durable materials like stainless steel, aluminium, brass and Borosilicate glass. As a result they operate quietly – typically 12dB.
Advanced materials (such as graphite) and low friction bearings ensure low maintenance, plus heat flow is optimised with a silver thermodynamic heat plate.
Stirling engine stove fans have a high power output and low start up speed so they move large volumes of warm air.
Every engine is hand-crafted, assembled and tested in Great Britain.

Beautiful and mesmerizing. My kids love it. Also serves as a reminder to put more wood in the stove as the fan slows. Thank you for your craftsmanship.

Nice little unusual fan that circulates heat efficiently.

It really is a very well made, high quality fan. Shipping was fast and it runs very quite. But, after using it for about a month in some very cold Midwest weather I realized it’s more of a conversation piece or piece of art to look at. It doesn’t move much air and the stove top needs to be about 300 degrees to get the fan moving at a decent speed. If you buy the fan going in knowing that upfront it’s worth it.

This fan works amazing and is worth every dollar. Packaging held up over its travel. Easy to put together and looks amazing. We thought the cover was going to be glass but it’s actually a hard plastic but it still looks great!

Fan arrived very quickly in great packaging, engineered extremely well and works a treat. Looks fabulous when operating and still looks fab when not. Brilliant, thanks.

Worth the wait for its availability. Throws out the heat from our alcove silently and warms the room well. Looks good and it’s a good conversation piece whether the stove is in use or not. I like the clear chamber so you can see the piston working.

Received my twinspeed and glasshopper stove fans last week. Arrived after their long journey in excellent condition, nice to see the packaging is recycled/recyclable materials. The engineering and construction of these fans is second to none. Work like a dream and very quiet! Thoroughly enjoy watching them in action, almost mesmerizing. ????? from me.

I decided to order the Glasshopper fan. It arrived very quickly and in great packaging. It works great, just put it on top of the stove and viola. It is truly a work of art, beautiful, and runs nearly completely silently.

Great design and engineering! It works very well on my soapstone stove. Quick and polite response, and prompt delivery increases trust to the product. The logo of “Great Britain” on the top plate is shining!

I ordered the Glasshopper for a friend of mine in New Zealand (on the back of my own purchase of the sidewinder). WarpFive are a very good company to do business with and any questions I posed were answered swiftly and actually called me back informing me they had found a cheaper courier. The fan arrived in NZ 3 days ahead of forecast and my pal is delighted with the build quality, the engineering (even as they enter summer-it will be a centre piece?) and the warm fuzzy feeling that a small firm in Dawlish can make little gems like this! Chapea!

Thank you for my Glasshopper Stove Fan. The product came very well packaged and no damage was incurred during transport. I appreciated getting updates on tracking progress. The fan is certainly a very impressive, precise and beautiful piece of engineering. I enjoy explaining to people how it works. Warpfive was very helpful in answering my queries.

I bought the Glasshopper fan recently (as a birthday present to myself; always safer to buy one’s own) and I’m delighted. It is a lovely piece of engineering, and beautiful piece of kinetic sculpture. Both my father (84) and daughter (10) are entranced by it. The fact that it works at lower temperatures is ideal for our stove which has a cooking section meaning it’s top does not get so hot. Well done Warpfive and well done Rev. Dr Stirling!
